Free & Easy Chocolate Cake is easy to prepare and utterly delicious. Simply mix the ingredients, pop them in the oven, and enjoy a slice of this wonderful ”free from” treat!
What you’ll need:
- 155ml vegetable oil (we would recommend sunflower or rapeseed oil)
- 1 large egg
- 125ml milk (use a dairy-free alternative if preferred)
Cooking instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 160C/150C (fan) – gas mark 4
- Sieve the contents of your Free & Easy Chocolate Cake Mix into a bowl
- Add the oil, milk, and egg (or if you are making a vegan cake, the oil, and water) and whisk until combined. We would recommend using an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute, scraping down the bowl then mixing on high for further 4 minutes to ensure your cake rises
- Spoon or pour the mixture into your prepared cases or tins and bake (for cook times see a side of the pack, cooking times may vary a little depending on your oven)
- Cool on a wire rack, decorate to your heart’s content, and dive in!
To make the perfect vegan cake:
- 185ml vegetable oil
- 155ml water
Add the oil and water. Prepare as per the other instructions. The mix already contains a vegan egg replacer to help it rise, and will work well to make it a 100% vegan cake, although it will be slightly less fluffy.
