In the role of a Logistics and Warehouse Manager you will be involved in overseeing and optimizing the movement and storage of goods and products to ensure they are efficiently and effectively managed throughout their journey from suppliers to customers. Moreover you will have a chance not only to improve current state but also shape the logistics team and its operations according to the best industry standards.

You will be responsible for the fitcookie Central Logistics Team, its operations and most importantly its outcomes.

The Person

must have:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
  2. Or Industry Certifications: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  3. Experience in Logistics minimum 5 years
  4. Team Leadership experience minimum 1 year
  5. Driving license

  • Logistics Expertise: In-depth knowledge of logistics principles, supply chain management, and transportation processes.
  • Inventory Management: Proficiency in inventory control methods, demand forecasting, and managing stock levels efficiently.
  • Warehouse Operations: Strong understanding of warehouse layout and design, inventory storage, and optimization of warehouse processes.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics software, and data analysis tools.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with various teams, suppliers, and transportation providers.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges and implement solutions.

The role and responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management: Managing and controlling inventory levels to ensure that products are available when needed without excessive holding costs or stockouts. This includes tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing inventory control strategies.
  2. Warehouse Operations: Supervising all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. This involves optimizing warehouse layout, organizing stock, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
  3. Logistics Planning: Developing and implementing logistics strategies and plans that minimize transportation costs, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency. This includes selecting the most cost-effective shipping methods and carriers.
  4. Vendor and Supplier Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time deliveries of quality goods. Negotiating contracts, managing vendor performance, and evaluating supplier options are essential tasks.
  5. Quality Control: Ensuring that all incoming and outgoing goods meet quality standards and specifications. Implementing quality control processes to identify and address any issues with product quality.
  6. Cost Management: Monitoring and controlling logistics and warehouse expenses to maximize cost-effectiveness. This includes optimizing labor, equipment, and space utilization, as well as identifying areas for cost reduction.
  7. Technology and Systems: Utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other technology tools to streamline processes, track shipments, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
  8. Team Management: Hiring, training, and supervising a team of warehouse and logistics staff. Ensuring that employees are well-trained and motivated to meet performance goals.
  9. Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all warehouse and logistics activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards. This includes training employees on safety procedures and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Regularly reviewing and optimizing logistics and warehouse operations.
  11. Customer Service: Ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to logistics and warehouse matters.
  12. Reporting and Analysis: Generating and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the performance of logistics and warehouse operations. Using data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
